Lale Shovkat Hajiyeva: “The USA is the guarantee for holding free elections in Azerbaijan”

Member of Coordination Council of “Yeni Siyaset” or New Policy bloc Lale Shovkat Hajiyeva who has ended her visit to the USA recently told in her meeting in the International Press Center.

Stating of the position of the USA to be obvious, L.Shovkat said that holding of democratic elections in Azerbaijan meet the national interests of the USA. “The USA is trying to establish democratic states and authorities for forming security system in the world. Considering the security to be the guarantee of democracy, the USA can take concrete steps in the direction of democratizing the Caucasus countries”.

According to L.Shovkat, the opposition should take this into account in the forthcoming elections. ”The people’s support is the most important matter at the moment. If the opposition gains the people’s support the international organizations and super states will back the opposition then”.
