Police detains 45 protestors

The police detained 45 participants of the rally stage din Baku last Saturday, Baku City Police Department announced.
The announcement says 'Trio' bloc uniting the parties Musavat, the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP) and the Azerbaijan Democratic Party appealed to the Baku City Executive Power to sanction the rally scheduled for last Saturday.

"Taking into consideration some international events scheduled for that period they recommended the opposition to change the time of the action and the organizers were informed of that. However, despite the refusal by the city authorities, official warning by the City Prosecutor Office and the Central Police Department, around 500 people (representatives of the 'Trio' bloc and members of radical parties) attempted to assemble neat the Jafar Jabbarly square on Saturday at 16:00.

"As a result of measures taken by police, the illegal action was prevented, mass public disorder was prevented. 45 protestors, which did not obey the police and broke the order. The relevant investigation was set up," the same source announced.
