Azerbaijani parliamentarians to visit Iran

Members of inter-parliamentary group of the Azerbaijani-Iranian friendship society are due to visit Tehran in May.
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, Afshar Suleymani told Trend.

The aim of the upcoming visit is strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties of the neighbouring countries, as well as exchange of experience in the legislative field, he said.

"The visit had been scheduled for March, but due to some reasons the trip was postponed. I believe, the visit will contribute to the development of inter-parliamentary relations of both countries", the Ambassador underlined.

The Ambassador also noted, that the Parliamentary delegation of Azerbaijan will be headed by the Deputy Speaker Gevhar Bahshaliyeva. The inter-parliamentary group of the Azerbaijan- Iranian friendship society is headed by Chairman of the Supreme Mejlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Vasif Talybov. Due to his tense schedule he will not be able to visit Iran, the Ambassador also noted.
