Venice Commission offered the Azeri CEC to be formed again

Venice Commission of Council of Europe and Azerbaijan government are having work on the changes and additions to Election Code.
The information was given to APA from diplomatic sources. During the talks Venice Commission mostly stayed on the article of Election Code within the formation of Central Election Commission.

The commission suggested forming CEC again. According to them, the content of the commission should be changed and the organization should be formed on parity bases. The source stressing Azerbaijan government to continue the talks within this matter stated that Venice commission made suggestions within the changes to some procedures of voting and calculating votes.

Head of President Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev stated that, Venice Commission has not made any declaration about the formation of the content of CEC again: "There only some suggestions within technical corrections and they will be looked into".

But Ramiz Mehdiyev approved that Venice commission had given suggestions within the problems in voting process. He added that, there is no need for any change in Election Code, as it causes enough opportunity to hold democratic elections.
