Chairman-in-Office of OSCE to pay visit to Azerbaijan 1-2 april

Within frames of visit to states of the Southern Caucasus the chairman-in- office of OSCE and the minister of foreign affairs of Slovenia Dimitri Rupel is to pay visit to Azerbaijan 1-2 April.
The representative of Baku office of OSCE Ulvi Akhundlu informed agency Trend about this.

He said, the purpose of visit of the chairman-in-office of OSCE is to get acquainted with social-political situation in the state, state in the area of democratization, freedom of speech and religion. During the visit D.Rupel is to discuss with leadership of the state the issues of preparation to forthcoming November parliament elections in Azerbaijan, issues of provision of democracy in the process of participation of political parties and independent candidates at elections.

His meetings with the President I. Aliyev, Prime Minister A. Rasi-zade,  speaker of parliament M.Aleskerov, the MFA head E. Mamedyarov, representatives  of political parties and non-governmental organizations of Azerbaijan is  envisaged.

MFA of Slovenia is to discuss issues of development of bilateral Azerbaijan-Slovenian relations just as well. Particularly, the parties are to discuss the prospects of bilateral political and trade-economic relations.  D.Rupel is to arrive to Baku from Tbilisi and before this visit he is to be in Yerevan.
