President Aliyev ends official visit to Qatar [UPDATE]

An official welcome ceremony was held for President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who is in Qatar for an official visit, on February 27, Azertac reported.

President Aliyev and Emir of the State of Qatar held an expanded meeting. Later, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Qatar had a one-on-one meeting.

Following the meeting, a ceremony of signing documents between Azerbaijan and Qatar was held with participation of President Ilham Aliyev and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Qatari Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali and Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov signed “The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar in the Field of Culture”.

Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali and Elmar Mammadyarov also signed “The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar in the Fields of Youth and Sports”.

Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Bin Saif Al Sulaiti and Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev signed “The Memorandum of Understanding between Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC and Qatar Ports Management Company – MWANI Qatar”.

The two also undersigned “The Memorandum of Understanding between the State Civil Aviation Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Civil Aviation Authority of the State of Qatar”.

Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Bin Saif Al Sulaiti and Azerbaijan`s Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov signed “The Additional Protocol to the Agreement on Air Transport between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar”.

Qatari Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi and Azerbaijan`s Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov signed “The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar in the Field of Endangered Wildlife Protection and Habitat Conservation”.

President Aliyev completed his official visit to the State of Qatar on February 27.
