Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko embarked on an official visit to Azerbaijan on November 28, Azertac reported.
A guard of honor was arranged for the President at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport decorated with the national flags of the two countries.
The Belarussian leader Nicolas Maduro was welcomed by Azerbaijani Deputy Premier Yagub Eyyubov and other officials.
Lukashenko is set to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for face-to-face talks and expanded-participation negotiations.
The two leaders are expected to discuss the state and prospects of advancing Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations, including trade and economic cooperation, work on joint cooperation projects, interaction in the area of investments, agribusiness, and sport.
A number of international documents will be signed after the talks. The Belarusian head of state is also expected to meet with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.
