New Zealand-Azerbaijan friendship group created

The New Zealand-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, which has 8 members (MPs), has been created for the first time on October 6 at the New Zealand’s legislative body, the House of Representatives, by the initiative of the Azerbaijani embassy in Australia.

Todd Muller, who has been elected the friendship group’s head, told the Azerbaijani embassy that the group has been approved by David Carter, speaker of New Zealand’s parliament.

Meanwhile, Todd Muller is a member of the parliament’s select committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade.

The New Zealand-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group’s members are: Todd Muller – Chairperson and members - Mahesh Bindra, Jami-Lee Ross, David Bennett, Stuart Smith, Sarah Dowie, Mark Mitchell, Andrew Bayley.

It can also be noted that the Azerbaijan-New Zealand interparliamentary friendship group, which has 17 members, operates at the Azerbaijani parliament. Azerbaijani MP Khanlar Fatiyev is the group’s head.
