Pope Francis visits Heydar Mosque in Baku

Pope Francis has visited Heydar Mosque as part of his papal trip to Azerbaijan.

The Pontiff met with Chairman of the Clerical Office of Caucasus Muslims Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade and representatives of religious communities in Azerbaijan.

Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade provided information about Heydar Mosque.

They then exchanged keepsakes.

Pope Francis and Allahshukur Pashazade then had a private meeting.

Pope Francis and Allahshukur Pashazade then addressed representatives of religious communities in Azerbaijan.

The Pontiff spoke with leaders of the religious communities.
