Iranian president can visit Azerbaijan during 2016

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani can visit Azerbaijan during 2016, Iranian ambassador to Baku, Mohsen Pak Ayeen said at a press conference Feb. 25.

Significant development will be observed in Iranian-Azerbaijani relations in the first six months of 2016, according to the ambassador.

Further, Pak Ayeen offered condolences to the Azerbaijani people over the Khojaly genocide.

“Hopefully, such events will never happen in Azerbaijan or in any other part of the world,” he added.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Iran on Feb. 23. During the visit, the sides signed 11 documents.

President Aliyev also invited his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani to visit Azerbaijan.
