Azerbaijan and Costa Rica have mulled bilateral ties as Baku’s envoy to the United Mexican States, who has concurrent accreditation to Costa Rica, Ilgar Mukhtarov, held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Costa Rica Manuel Antonio Gonzalez as a part of his visit to the country.
The ambassador informed about the country's economic, political and cultural life.
Mukhtarov said that Gonzalez’s visit to Azerbaijan in October would make a significant contribution to the cooperation between the two countries.
The ambassador said Azerbaijan highlights all the importance in expanding relations with Latin American countries in its foreign policy, and also noted that the country is interested in enhancing cooperation with Costa-Rica in all fields.
The Foreign Minister said his visit to Azerbaijan for the first time opens a new page in the bilateral ties, and is a significant step in enhancing the relations.
They also discussed regional issues, and expressed confidence that the relations between the two countries would continue to expand.
