Vietnam- Azerbaijan friendship in agenda of Hanoi

A Vietnam- Azerbaijan Friendship Association conference on strengthening the bilateral relations has been held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technological Associations (VUSTA) Nghiem Vu Khai was elected as the association's Chairman in the 2015-2020 periods.

The Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association’s establishment was approved by the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs in July 2015 as a social association operating under the Charter ratified by the Minister of the Home Affairs.

The chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Vu Xuan Hong said the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association would contribute to expanding relations between the two countries` organizations, enterprises, research institutes, and universities.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Imanov expressed his belief that the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association would contribute to promoting the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Nghiem Vu Khai said the association would make active efforts to increase the mutual understanding, people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Vietnam amounted to $79.76 million at the end of 2014, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
