Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry responded to a recent statement made by the Armenian defense minister which accused Azerbaijan of several ceasefire violations and deaths on the frontline.

The Ministry said Ohanyan's statement was nothing but the work of fiction of a man whose hands are tainted by the blood of innocent Azerbaijanis.

"The person, who killed civilians, including children, women and the elderly people in Khojaly and other occupied territories of Azerbaijan, doesn’t have a moral right to speak about humanity and insult the Azerbaijani people who fought for the liberation of their own lands," said the Ministry.

The Azerbaijani armed forces killed two Armenian servicemen as a result of gunplays after a ceasefire violation triggered by the Armenian troops on Feb.28. One of the killed conscripts was a colonel in Armenia's army.

Attending the burials of the killed soldiers, Ohanyan promised a severe revenge on Azerbaijan with his "unprecedented thirst" for vengeance. He even dared to compare Azerbaijani army to a wolf pack.

The ministry noted that Ohanyan is still dreaming of revenge, all the while staring into eyes of his own children, children and relatives of those Armenians who were unduly killed and injured in the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

"Ohanyan is a villain and barbarous parent, who shed the blood of hundreds of children, his statement clearly proves that he is mentally abnormal. Such unbelievable arrogance, such criminal leadership in Armenia is what has caused the Armenian people to suffer from solider deaths - today and for many years," said the Ministry.

The Ministry further called on Armenian parents not to send their children toward their death for the sake of such nonsensical dreams.

"Armenia will face heavier and more crushing losses, unless the last occupier leaves the occupied lands of Azerbaijan,” the ministry concluded.

Member of Azerbaijani Parliament, Zahid Oruj believes that Armenians are slowly coming to terms with the illegality of their presence on foreign lands.

"Armenian rulers cannot introduce the occupant soldiers as heroes anymore. Azerbaijan is now strong enough to unfold the truth. Fictional Armenian tale whispered to people's ears have been crushed into dust. The Armenian people have realized that there are Azerbaijani history, mountains, fields, cities, lands under their feet in Karabakh," Oruj added.

He noted that Ohanyan is inventing stories on alleged diversion attempts by the Azerbaijani army.

"Ohanyan can bother himself with such stories when Azerbaijani authorities order to fire at Yerevan or suddenly encroaches on Armenia's territorial integrity. Azerbaijan army is currently engaged in stopping its enemy's further aggression," he said.

In light of Ohanyan's comparison of Azerbaijanis to wolves, Oruj said: "If Azerbaijan is a wolf, then Armenians are jackals who looked for blood and found it in foreign territories."

He went on to say that Armenian minister's threats are just a fictional story aimed at calming down the people in Armenia. "Ohanyan is well aware that the Armenian army faces ten folds more bullets from the Azerbaijani army as a response to a bullet fired at Azerbaijani positions," he noted.

Azerbaijan's internationally recognized Nagorno-Karabakh territory has become a conflict zone following Armenia's aggression in the early 1990s. As a result of Armenia's armed invasion, 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory fell under Armenia's occupation. Nonetheless, the OSCE has attempted to foster a peaceful resolution to this conflict amid Armenia's persistent derailment on peace talks.
