Slovenia, Azerbaijan to mull development of bilateral ties

A Slovenian delegation has arrived in Azerbaijan to discuss development of ties in different fields.

The delegation led by Mitja Bervar, the president of the Slovenia’s National Council arrived on a visit to Azerbaijan on March 2.

Ziyafet Asgarov, the first vice-speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament and other officials welcomed Bervar at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The goal of the visit is to contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries in the sport, culture, information, economy and other fields, Bervar told journalists.

He is expected to have a number of meetings in the Azerbaijani capital.

Slovenia recognized Azerbaijan’s independence in December, 1991 and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in February, 1996.

The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $15 million in 2014.
