President Ilham Aliyev held number of official meetings - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a Pakistani delegation, which consists of members of the Senate and the National Assembly, led by Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sabir Ali Baloch.

On behalf of the delegation, Sabir Ali Baloch congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his confident victory in the presidential election.

The Deputy Chairman said the election was held in a free, democratic, and transparent manner.
He praised existing peace and stability in Azerbaijan.

Sabir Ali Baloch reiterated that Afghanistan supported Azerbaijan`s fair position on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The Head of State hailed successful development of friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

President Ilham Aliyev noted Pakistan was one of the close allies of Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani President expressed confidence that the friendly and partnership ties between the two countries would continue to develop in the years to come.

The President stressed the importance of the two countries` mutual support as part of international organizations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which observed the presidential election in the country.

On behalf of the delegation, member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Haluk Ipak, who heads the mission, congratulated the Head of State over his landslide victory.

He said they visited several regions of the country and saw high voter turnout, especially among youth.

Haluk Ipak said the observation mission included deputies from the Justice and Development Party, the Republican People`s Party and the Nationalist Movement Party.

The Turkish MP reminded that he took part in the 2003 election too, noting he witnessed great progress after every election in Azerbaijan. He said the election was observed with big interest by the President, the Prime Minister and the people of Turkey, and expressed hope the election would bring great achievements to Azerbaijan.

The Head of State described the historical friendship and brotherhood ties between the two countries as a strong foundation for development of the Turkey-Azerbaijan relations. President Ilham Aliyev said the Turkey-Azerbaijan unity was an important factor on the international scene. The Head of State praised the successful development of the relations between the two nations. Touching upon the presidential election, the Head of State praised its results as the people`s approval of work done in Azerbaijan, and expression of their will regarding future development. The Head of State expressed confidence that the Azerbaijan-Turkey bilateral relations would be further developed on all fronts.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by head of the CIS election observation mission, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev.

Head of the CIS mission Sergei Lebedev congratulated the Head of State on a landslide victory in the presidential election.

Sergei Lebedev noted that members of the CIS mission were in close contact with local observers and voters during the election process.

He said voters casted their ballots for stability and development of the country.

According to the CIS Executive Secretary, the results of the presidential election in Azerbaijan illustrated the people’s trust in their President and prospects of work carried out in the country under his leadership.

Sergei Lebedev expressed confidence that President Ilham Aliyev’s political line would contribute to strengthening the country’s image on the international scene and in the CIS, as well as to expanding Azerbaijan’s cooperative, economic and neighborhood ties with member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The President thanked the head of the CIS observation mission Sergei Lebedev and the mission’s members for their participation in the monitoring of the presidential election in Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev said all necessary conditions were created to conduct transparent election in the country.

The Head of State noted that the election process took place in a democratic manner.

President Ilham Aliyev said the people voted for the results of the successful policy carried out in the country, adding this policy will be continued.
