Political stability in Azerbaijan and the conditions created at the polling stations are being demonstrated to the world as an example of the preparation of the election, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said at the Independent Press Centre on Wednesday.
According to him, one of the most important factors is to conduct a transparent and fair election in accordance with international standards. Society must be ready to ensure this.
"Around 40,000 observers have been registered to observe the presidential election in Azerbaijan," Panahov said.
"There are more than 1300 international observers representing authoritative organisations," Panahov said.
According to Panahov, the Independent Press Centre has been provided with the necessary equipment and meets all necessary requirements.
He urged the leaders of all political parties in Azerbaijan to use the services of the Independent Media Centre.
"This centre is open for holding various press conferences, as well as for applications," he said.
"The candidates may bring their booklets and information materials."
The presidential election in Azerbaijan will be held on October 9. The previous one was held on October 15, 2008.
