Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will raise
the problem of Armenian occupation of the Nagorno-Karabakh region at the autumn session of the organization.

Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, MP Samad Seyidov said on September 20 that the session will discuss a variety of issues.

Seyidov said Azerbaijan will bring to the attention of the session participants its position and will raise the necessary questions, the main of which is undoubtedly the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

He added that this session will also be attended by the Armenian president, Foreign Minister and other officials.

Seyidov went on to say that the delegation will participate in the session and openly put forward its position.

PACE autumn session will take place on September 30 -October 4 in Strasbourg.

Azerbaijani MP Sahiba Gafarova will present her Report on "Combating discrimination against older persons on the labour market" on the last day of the session.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict emerged in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Since a lengthy war in the early 1990s that displaced over one million Azerbaijanis, Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions.
