
The summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) began its work today in Strasbourg.
The hearings of PACE Standing Committee and Bureau reports and discussions of such issues as the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, fight against corruption, situation in the Middle East and equal rights for healthcare services use and other issues are expected, PACE website reported.
A speech by the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian during the session is also expected today. The president of the European Parliament Martin Schulz will make a speech on June 25.
The assembly will also elect judges for the European Court of Human Rights from Iceland, Lithuania and the Republic of Slovakia.
It should be noted that the summer session of PACE will continue until June 28.
