Head of Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev held several meetings in Iran - PHOTOS

Azerbaijan and Iran have discussed the current state of and prospects for the bilateral cooperation as head of the Presidential Administration, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev met secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili in Tehran.

Ramiz Mehdiyev said the two countries enjoyed strong historical, cultural and economic ties.

The head of the Presidential Administration praised rapid development of relations between the two countries and peoples.

They said Azerbaijan`s sincere friendly and good neighborhood policy played an important role in the Azerbaijan-Iran relations.

They also noted that the two countries would continue their efforts to use all opportunities for development of the bilateral relations.

Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev has today met Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran.

Ramiz Mehdiyev conveyed greetings of Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and thanked him for the high hospitality.

The Head of the Presidential Administration praised development of historical, cultural and religious relations between the two countries and peoples.

He said there was good potential for strengthening the Azerbaijan-Iran ties.

They noted reciprocal visits played an important role in rapid development of the bilateral relationship.

The Iranian leader asked Ramiz Mehdiyev to pass on his greetings to President Ilham Aliyev.

They also noted that the two countries` presidents showed high political will for expansion of relations between the two countries.

They exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest.
