President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today ratified several laws adopted by the parliament over the activity of special economic zones. These are laws on making amendments to ‘Taxes Code’, ‘Special economic zones’, ‘Confirmation of regulations on service in customs bodies’, ‘Border Guards, ‘State border of the Republic of Azerbaijan’.
Amendments to Taxes Code envisage new variant of a part of the article #188 on exempting the goods imported to the country from taxes.
The changes aim to improve temporary import to Azerbaijani territory in the cases considered in the articles #192 and #194 of the Customs Code. Thus, if up to this day the goods imported to the country for re-export were not exempted from excise tax, now they will be exempted.
The amendments to the law on ‘Special economic zones’ envisage improvement of the article #17.
