Two reports related to Azerbaijan have been submitted for discussion at the PACE plenary session today.

The first report on "Azerbaijan's fulfilling obligations" has been prepared by the co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee Pedro Agramunt and Joseph Debono Grech. The second report has been prepared by Rapporteur on Legal Affairs and Human Rights Christopher Strasser in connection with the political prisoners in Azerbaijan.

According to the regulations of the Assembly, co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Pedro Agramunt stressed that the report submitted for discussion was approved at the Monitoring Committee meeting in Paris in December 2012. After today's meeting it will be submitted for discussion with a few changes.

He has also called the discussed report as balanced and urged his colleagues to support it.

Agramunt also stressed that although 13 changes were proposed to be made in the report, the co-rapporteurs have not adopted them, because the report was accepted by all.
