
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a Norwegian delegation led by Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide.
The Norwegian FM conveyed greetings of Crown Prince of Norway Haakon to the Head of State.
Espen Barth Eide described long-term operation of the Norwegian Statoil company in Baku as a good example of the bilateral cooperation. He said bilateral relationship between Azerbaijan and Norway had a solid foundation. The Minister noted there were wide opportunities for development of partner relations between the two countries even more.
The Head State recalled a meting with Crown Prince of Norway Haakon. President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of the fact that Statoil`s first regional office opened in Baku at the initial stage of Azerbaijan`s cooperation with international oil companies.
The Azerbaijani leader noted the efforts were successfully continuing to develop ties between the two countries. They also praised the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Norway on various fronts, in particular in energy sector.
They noted there were good prospects for expansion of the bilateral cooperation even more.
The Azerbaijani President asked Minister Espen Barth Eide to pass on his greetings to the Norwegian Crown Prince.
