NAP calls on opposition to recognize 'failure'

20 December 2012 [11:20] - TODAY.AZ
The radical wing of the opposition is testing its capabilities ahead of the upcoming elections but always fails because it cannot achieve desired results during its rallies, Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, MP Mubariz Gurbanli stated through the official website of the ruling party today.

He said that the small number of participants in these legally conducted rallies disappoint the opposition. They use the allotment of other places for rallies as a pretext. This faction's attempts to hold mass rallies in central Baku and in parks are actions aimed at disturbing public peace. These actions are prevented because they are illegal.

"Appropriate places were allotted for the opposition," he said. "The opposition can voice its thoughts by gathering there. If a citizen feels discontent, he is sure to go to the place allocated for the rally. There are places allocated for rallies in the 20th section that have many houses and shopping centers with plenty of people around, which means people living near the rally, remain indifferent to them. If these people were dissatisfied, they would have participated in these rallies. If a person does not take part in a nearby rally, it means that this specific citizen does not show solidarity with those who organized it. Unfortunately, "clever" individuals from the opposition do not understand this. Their actions aimed at disrupting the public order in the city center will be always prevented. The opposition now must understand that it has failed the test for 2013."
