
A conference on “Culture and art in the world of Heydar Aliyev” was held in Ankara.
The conference was organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey, presidium of the Bilkent University of Vagf of the Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship, cooperation and solidarity.
According to the embassy of Azerbaijan in Ankara, the conference participants commemorated the genius figure of the Turkic world, founder and architect of the modern Azerbaijani state, national leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.
Memory of the great leader was honored with a moment of silence. Azerbaijani ambassador to Turkey Faig Bagirov and chairman of the Vagf of the Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship, cooperation and solidarity Enver Hasanoglu greeted the participants and wished success to the conference.
The ceremony was attended by speaker of the Turkish parliament Cemil Cicek, chief of the presidential administration of Turkey Mustafa Issen, vice premier Beshir Atalay, Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertogrul Gunay, Deputy Chairman of the Ruling Party of Justice and Development Mehmet Nejati Chetinkaya, chief of the department for issues of humanitarian policy of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Fatma Abdullazade, vice premier of the Azerbaijani government Elchin Efendiyev, deputy minister of education of Turkey Orhan Erdem, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov, Azerbaijani ambassador to Turkey Faig Bagirov, deputies, public representatives and others.
In his speech, Turkish parliament speaker Cemil Cicek noted that thanks to the wise policy of great leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan has become one of the most important countries in the region.
"His contribution to the Turkic world is praised not only in Azerbaijan but also in Turkey", he said.
