Azerbaijan-Maldives ties mulled

Azerbaijan`s ambassador to India, Ambassador with concurrent accreditation to Maldives Ibrahim Hajiyev has presented his credentials to President Mohamed Waheed.

The ambassador delivered greetings by President Ilham Aliyev to President Mohamed Waheed.
They expressed satisfaction on development of the relations between the two countries, as well as on building stability in Maldives with the efforts of President Mohamed Waheed.

President Waheed expressed desire on visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Maldives and also stressed wish on his visit to Azerbaijan within the participation in the international events, as well as meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.

On importance of further development of the bilateral relations President Waheed also added that the steady development of Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as increasing the country`s power in the international arena made him very happy. He also was interested in the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The Azeri ambassador has also met Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdul Samad Abdullah to discuss issues of mutual interest.
