
The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM took place in Dublin on Friday.
The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova held discussions within the meeting of the OSCE CFM, held in the capital of Ireland on December 6-7.
The forum was also attended by GUAM Secretary General Valery Chechelashvili.
GUAM CFM considered the issues of political interaction, sectorial cooperation, cooperation with partner countries and other international organizations, the press service of the organization said.
The foreign ministers agreed on a draft UN resolution "Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their implications for international peace, security and development" for holding consultations with delegations of key GUAM partners.
The CFM discussed the consideration process of the draft UN resolution "Cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM" at the current session of the UN General Assembly.
Foreign ministers welcomed the decision of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly (PA) president to hold the next PA meeting in Baku on December 19-20, 2012.
The CFM considered the issues of sectorial cooperation development, in particular in transport, tourism, economy and trade, culture, science and education, and energy fields.
The CFM decided to reformat the Working Group on Culture, Science and Education and the Working Group on Tourism, and made a decision on the approval of coordinating countries of GUAM sectorial working groups for the period of 2013-2014.
Foreign ministers discussed issues of cooperation with GUAM partner countries and other international organizations.
The CFM thanked the Japanese side for the implementation of projects in the field of green energy, transport infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, and expressed hope for further active cooperation.
The Council considered the organizational activities of GUAM.
The venue and the date of the next CFM meeting will be arranged through diplomatic channels.
The Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM is a regional organization established in 1997 by Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova (Uzbekistan was a member of the organization from 1999 to 2005).
