'Azerbaijan seeks development of relations with int'l organizations'

Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ogtay Asadov has today met co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Pedro Agramunt Font de Mora and Joseph Debono Grech.

Mr. Asadov recalled his meetings with PACE co-rappourters adding these discussions had served to the development of the relations between Azerbaijan and the European Council. He briefed the co-rappourters on reforms carrying out in the country, particularly progress achieved in the direction of the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Asadov also added that Azerbaijan was interested in development of the relations with international organizations, as well as the European Council. The co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of PACE said that the visit aimed to discuss the latest details of the report preparing for Azerbaijan.

The report also covers the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The report after the discussion in the Monitoring Committee`s meeting in Paris, on December 12, will be included to the agenda of the PACE`s Strasbourg session, which to be held in January 2013.
