CoE`s official hails judicial reforms in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov has met Philippe Boillat, Director General of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law, Council of Europe. Fikrat Mammadov highlighted the close relations between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe. He spoke of democratic changes carrying out in the country led by President Ilham Aliyev, as well as judicial reforms, transparent elections of judges and other issues.

Recalling the bilateral meeting held in the conference of Ministers of Justice in Vienna, Austria, Azerbaijani Minister touched upon the development of e-justice, application of the modern information communication technologies, modernization of judicial infrastructure, and establishment of new innovative and transparent services.

Praising the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe, Philippe Boillat highly appreciated the adoption of the National Plan of Action for the Protection of Human Rights in the country.

Mr. Boillat also hailed the judicial reforms in Azerbaijan, application of standards of the CoE and cooperation with the country`s Justice Ministry.
