13 November 2012 [10:11] - TODAY.AZ
Defense ministries of Azerbaijan and Ukraine have signed today here a bilateral cooperation plan for 2013. The signing ceremony took place at a meeting of Azerbaijan`s defense minister Safar Abiyev with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitro Salamatin.

During the meeting Abiyev spoke of development of Azerbaijan-Ukraine relationship, adding this progress is also observed in bilateral military cooperation. The sides also exchanged views on military and political situation in the region.

Abiyev said the continuation of aggressive policy by Armenia puts obstacles to settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “The OSCE Minsk Group`s mediation efforts have yielded no results so far. Cultural and historical monuments were destructed in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have committed unprecedented massacre in Khojaly.”

Minister Abiyev noted Azerbaijan would resort to other means to liberate its territories if peaceful settlement of the conflict is impossible.
