New administrative territorial division established in Azerbaijan

Amendments to the law on creation of new administrative territorial divisions (ATD) were discussed at the plenary session of the Parliament on Thursday.

The creation of the ATDs in a number of cities and regions of Azerbaijan is covered in the draft law "On the introduction of partial changes in the administrative and territorial division." In general, 40 ATDs will be created.

Under the bill, new ATDs will be created in Binagadi, Khatai, Narimanov, Nasimi, Nizami, Sabail and Yasamal districts of Baku, Kepez Ganja and Nizami districts, as well as in the cities of Lankaran, Mingachevir, Naphthalene, Sumgait, Sheki, Shirvan and Yevlakh.

After discussions, the bill was put to a vote and adopted.
