Azerbaijan-ISESCO relations mulled

Azerbaijan`s incoming ambassador to Morocco Tarik Aliyev has presented his credentials as the country`s permanent delegate to the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) to the organization`s Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri.

Othman Altwaijri spoke of ISESCO`s cooperation with Azerbaijan. The Director General said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attached great importance to developing the Azerbaijan-ISESCO relations.

“The Azerbaijan-ISESCO relations entered a new stage after Azerbaijan`s first lady Mehriban Aliyeva was elected ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador.” Praising the first lady`s activities as a goodwill ambassador, the ISESCO Director General stressed Azerbaijan hosted different high-profile international events supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The Director General also said ISESCO supported Azerbaijan on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Aliyev thanked Othman Altwaijri for his support of Azerbaijan`s fair position on the dispute.
He expressed confidence the Azerbaijan-ISESCO relations would develop even further during his tenure.
