President Ilham Aliyev holds several meetings - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received former Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga.

During the meeting, they praised development of bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The parties stressed the importance of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum. They underlined the importance of international interest in the Forum.

Vaira Vike-Freiberga said rapid development processes in Baku and Ganja made a deep impression on her.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a French delegation led by co-chairman of the Senate Energy Studies Group Ladislas Poniatowski, and including senators Delphine Bataille, Christophe-André Frassa and Jean-Claude Lenoir.

The Head of State expressed confidence the visit of the French senators, who represent the Senate Energy Studies Group, would contribute to expanding the relations between the two countries.

Recalling his recent visit to France, President Ilham Aliyev said his bilateral meetings, including one with President of France Francois Hollande once again proved a strategic nature of the two countries` relationship.

The Head of State stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation in terms of development of the relations.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence the visit by the representatives of the French Senate would contribute to strengthening this cooperation.

Ladislas Poniatowski said all members of his delegation represented the Senate Energy Studies Group of France. He noted they were interested in further expansion of the existing relations in all areas, especially in energy sector.

Ladislas Poniatowski emphasized the fact that President Ilham Aliyev was one of the first leaders to meet Francois Hollande.
