Azerbaijan,US hold political talks

Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov met on Thursday with Philippe Gordon, US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.

They discussed different aspects of the Azerbaijan-United States relationship and exchanged views on how to take these ties even further ahead in the future. Gordon thanked Azerbaijan for its support of the NATO`s Afghanistan mission, expressing hope this support would continue in future.

They also discussed talks aimed at resolving the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as current issues on the agenda of the UN Security Council.
