
Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has today met a delegation led by Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People`s Congress of China Li Zhaoxing.
During the meeting, they noted bilateral cooperation between the two countries were steadily developing in various fields during the 20 years.
They underlined there was wide potential to expand the bilateral cooperation even more.
The parties stressed the importance of interparliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and China, adding such visits contribute to developing interparliamentary relations.
Mammadyarov spoke of the peace talks to settle the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The FM stressed the necessity of pulling the Armenian Armed Forces out of Azerbaijan`s occupied lands.
He also thanked China for supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Zhaoxing praised the level of existing relations between the two countries, noting there are ample opportunities to develop the bilateral cooperation.
The Chinese chairman hailed Azerbaijan`s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, praising the country`s activity in this field. “China has always supported Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and sovereignty within international organizations.”
