Azerbaijani President holds several meetings - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People`s Congress of China Li Zhaoxing.

Li Zhaoxing expressed pleasure with his visit to Azerbaijan. He conveyed Chinese President Hu Jintao`s greetings to the Azerbaijani leader.

Zhaoxing noted the role of the heads of state for expanding bilateral relations between the two countries.

President Ilham Aliyev recalled his first official visit to the Chinese capital and meetings held during the Beijing Olympic Games, noting his visit opened big opportunities for expansion of bilateral ties between the countries.

The Head of State hailed political relations between Azerbaijan and China, adding bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and culture is developing.
During the meeting, they stressed the importance of boosting interparliamentary cooperation.

They expressed confidence bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and China would continue to strengthen. President Ilham Aliyev asked Li Zhaoxing to deliver his greetings to Chinese President Hu Jintao.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by FIFA President Joseph Blatter.

During the meeting, they stressed the importance of holding the 2012 FIFA U-17 women`s world cup in Azerbaijan. They also praised preparatory work for the championship.

It was stressed that Azerbaijan`s government attaches great importance to sports, including development of football. It was noted that successive measures were taken to build sports infrastructure in Azerbaijan`s capital and regions.

Joseph Blatter presented a special medal of the FIFA U-17 women`s world cup and FIFA`s pennant to the Head of State.

After the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev hosted a dinner in honor of FIFA President Joseph Blatter.
