Azerbaijan - Pakistan ties appraised

An event to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and independence and armed forces day of Pakistan has been held in Baku.

Pakistani Ambassador Inayatullah Kakar said relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan were based on “close friendship and sincerity”.

Kakar noted both countries were committed to ideas of tolerance and peace.
“Our Heads of the States are supporting each other on regional and international issues.”
Azerbaijan`s Defence Industry Minister Yavar Jamalov congratulated the people of Pakistan on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev.

He said cooperative relations between the two countries established by national leader Heydar Aliyev was successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.

On the Nargorno-Karabakh conflict, he noted: “Pakistan supports Azerbaijan`s just position on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in international organizations.”
The event brought together state and government officials, as well as members of Azerbaijan`s Parliament, ambassadors and members of the general public.
