Azerbaijani, Syrian FMs hold talks

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem on the Syrian initiative during the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), summit, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

Both sides exchanged views on the non-permanent membership of Azerbaijan to the UN Security Council. They also expressed mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister reiterated the country's position on the processes in the Middle East, including Syria.
