
A conference on “Prospects of collaboration between the IDP Children Committees and state bodies” co-organized by Danish Refugee Council Azerbaijan, “Hayat” international humanitarian organization and Azerbaijan Young Lawyers Union has today been held here.
The event was attended by the members of Milli Majlis, representatives of Azerbaijan`s Cabinet of Ministers, Ministries of Youth and Sport, Education, Communication and Information Technologies, Ecology and Natural Resources, State Committees on Refugees and IDPs issues, Family, Women and Children issues, local executive powers, IDP Children Committees, national and international NGOs.
The conference marks the final stage of the EU-funded project “Return and Resettlement – Children`s participation in Decision Making”. The overall objective of the project is to empower internally displaced children in Azerbaijan to make their concerns, opinions and desires in matters related to resettlement and return included in planning and implementation of the return and resettlement programs of Azerbaijan`s government.
Speaking at the event head of Danish Refugee Council Azerbaijan Bojan Kolundzija briefed the attendees on the relevant project, and touched on the importance of the conference.
