The leader of the Azerbaijani Democratic Party has accused his colleagues from other parties that the opposition cannot unite due to their actions.
"The Azerbaijani Popular Front Party and Musavat do not want political changes," Chairman of the Azerbaijani Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu told Trend today. "Their main goal is to gather individuals and fight for the sake of opposition, rather than the country by deceiving 5-10 people."
Earlier, the Karabakh political bloc, uniting the Azerbaijani Democratic Party and the Umid party, sent a proposal about merging to the opposition parties. The letter stressed the importance of consolidating the opposition.
Jalaloglu said the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party and Musavat do not show solidarity.
"Their position is that the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party and "Musavat", as the major parties, are not obliged to maintain the relations and consider the views of small opposition parties," Jalaloglu said.
Commenting on this issue, Musavat Mejlis Chairman Arzu Samadbayli said Musavat has not received the Karabah political block's letter with a proposal about merging the forces.
"The letter has not been received," Samadbayli said. "If we got it, we
would express our attitude."
Regarding Jalaloglu's accusations, Musavat said this is Jalaloglu's own opinion and declined to comment.
Jalaloglu said all of these statements are excuses.
"Someone said that had not received any letter, others said that the letter had a grammatical error and that the letter was not signed," the leader of the Azerbaijani Democratic Party said. "All these are excuses and nothing more."
