Azerbaijan's FM voices concern to French diplomat

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has summoned French Ambassador to the country Gabriel Keller over a bill on criminalizing denial of so-called “Armenian genocide”. Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov conveyed to the diplomat Azerbaijan`s serious concern over the French Senate`s forthcoming discussion of a bill on criminalizing the denial of so-called “Armenian genocide” on January 23.

The Deputy FM underscored adoption of this bill would have a negative impact on the region.
The ambassador underlined France favors the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity. He said he would inform the French government about Azerbaijan`s position.
