Azerbaijan attends UNSC meeting as its non-permanent member

A number of the UN member states, including Russia and the United States, officially welcomed the beginning of Azerbaijan’ activities as a nonpermanent member of the UN Security Council. Azerbaijan and four countries - Morocco, Guatemala, Pakistan and Togo occupied a seat in the Security Council for two years from Jan.1. The UNSC will hold its first meeting on Jan.4.

Clashes in Syria and Iran’s nuclear issue will be the main priorities of the Security Council in the near future. Azerbaijan declared that it will play a constructive role in solving global problems.
