22 December 2011 [13:04] - TODAY.AZ
The Chamber of MPs of the Congress of Mexico has adopted a document condemning the occupation of Azerbaijani territory by Armenia, Azerbaijan human toll and genocide committed by Armenian armed forces in the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

The document deplored the fact that the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unsolved and called to continue dialogue towards resolving the problem. The document recommends the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations to submit the report on humanitarian crisis in Azerbaijan to the Congress of Mexico, taking into account the existence of million refugees and internally displaced in Azerbaijan.

The document also recommended the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations to call the Armenian government to implement UN Security Council resolutions and to withdraw Armenian troops from occupied territories.

The document, on behalf of the Mexican government, encourages international organizations to urge Armenia to stop the violence against the civilian population of Azerbaijan immediately, to withdraw its troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, as well as to invite all interested parties in the conflict to refrain from any form of violence and intervention to prevent the emergence of a larger conflict in the region.
