Police find Marijuana Christmas tree

Police in Germany have discovered a two-metre marijuana plant which decorated in lights as a Christmas tree. According to The Local, drugs detectives in Rhineland-Palatinate found the unusual seasonal centrepiece when searching the Montabaur home of an "old '68er", referencing the radical left movement of the late 1960s.

Police said that the man "more or less willingly" handed officers 150g of the drug before they discovered the "peculiar 'Christmas tree'".

A statement read: "In response to questions by the dumbfounded officers, the hashish fan confirmed that the ‘tree’ would be decorated further and, on Christmas, gifts would be arranged underneath according to tradition."

Earlier this month, narcotics officers in Germany found an advent calendar with small matchboxes of cannabis hidden behind each window.
