An Armenian confectionery company has been officially recognised for making the largest chocolate bar in the world. Grand Candy set a new Guinness World Record by making the 4,410kg bar, News AM reports. The firm held a presentation ceremony on September 11.
The 5.6m by 2.75m by 2.5m bar was made in four days to mark the tenth anniversary of the company and Guinness Book of World Records legal representative Elizabeth Smith travelled to Armenia to present the certificate.
Company president Karen Vardanyan announced an open chocolate tasting event in the country's Republic Square on October 16. He noted that it would take the average person 450 years to eat such a bar. The chocolate was made from 500kg of cocoa beans imported from Africa and 300kg of powdered sugar. It beat the previous 3,580kg bar manufactured in Italy three years ago.
