L.A. paper artist shows his amazing works

04 August 2010 [13:17] - TODAY.AZ
It's paper art - but a long way from basic origami. These intricate sculptures can take up to four months to complete and sell for thousands of pounds – but are made using just paper, glue and a sharp knife. Landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, Sydney Opera House, Egyptian pyramids and the Great Wall of China are all replicated in incredible detail by Los Angeles artist Jeff Nishinaka.

‘I began experimenting with different papers, finding ways to shape, bend, and round edges on it. I knew I was destined to make paper sculptures,’ said the 52-year-old. His most expensive work was a tree sculpture which sold for £66,000.
