Azerbaijan marks 110th anniversary of Mugham singer Khan Shushinski

An event on the 110th anniversary of outstanding Azerbaijani Mugham singer, people’s artist Khan Shushinski was held at the International Mugham Center.

Photos describing Khan Shushinski's life and creative activity were demonstrated in the foyer of the Mugham Center. The jubilee event was directed by Stage Director of the Opera and Ballet Theater Hafiz Guliyev.

Khan Shushinski born in Shusha was a singer and a popular artist of Azerbaijan. He was famous for an exclusive talent and as a singer with a voice of wide compass and highly developed style of performance

Such mughams as "The segah of Mirza Guseyn", "Shahnaz", "The shikeste of Garabag", "Kurd-shahnaz", "Rast", "Bayaty-Shiraz", "Gatar", "Djahargah", "Mahur:", "Heyraty", "Shur"played a great role in his career. Khan Shushinski composed songs ("Shushanyn daghlary" (Mountains of Shusha), "Menden gen gezme" ("Don't be far away from me"), "Ay gozel" ("Hey beauty") and tesnifs.

MPs Fattah Heydarov, Ganira Pashayeva, Chairman of Public Union “Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Karabakh”, people’s artists Habil Aliyev, Arif Babayev, Janali Akbarov and the other well-known persons participated in the event.
