The European Movie Festival returns to Azerbaijan

The Delegation of the European Union (EU), Embassies of the European Union member-states represented in Azerbaijan jointly with "Park Cinema" are pleased to announce launch of the European Movie Festival 2011. The Festival will run from 6 to 10 October in Baku and will not only present modern European movies but also host world renowned European film directors and actors.

The programme includes screening of 11 films from 12 European Union countries represented in Azerbaijan (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom and a joint endeavour from Greece and France).

The films are selected to suit all the audience. The young generation will be particularly interested in the movies from the UK and Czech Republic aimed at teenagers.

The guests of the Festival will include the French Film Director Olivier Horlait, Austrian Film Director Michael Glawogger, Polish Film Director Marek Lechki, German documentarians Stefan Kolbe and Chris Wright, Lithuanian Film Director Inesa Kurklietyte, Greek actor Gennadios Patsis.

The audience will be given a chance to participate in interactive discussions with the guests after the movies.  

Entrance to all the films is free for everybody. The free tickets will be available from "Park Cinema", "Park Boulevard", Neftchilar Avenue from 03 October.

The European Movie Festivals now turning into annual events in Azerbaijan serve to building and developing the cultural links existing between the European Union countries and Azerbaijan and to contributing to better understanding of the European values through the European movie industry.
