Baku to host music festival on occasion of prominent composer's jubilee

A music festival dedicated to 80th birthday of prominent Azerbaijani composer Tofiq Bayramov will be held in Baku, Chairwoman of the Azerbaijan Union of Composers Firangiz Alizade said.

A series of concerts will be held till December 28 on this occasion. The composer has been presented with the award instituted by the ACU. The composer has created seven symphonies, symphonic mughams, 20 concerts for various musical instruments, five symphonic poems, and more than 20 overtures, suites, and other works.

"I do not know how 80 years went by. I do not feel I am 80 because I devoted my life only to creativity and music,” the composed said at an awarding ceremony.
