On Tuesday, exhibition "Samad Vurgun in the visual arts” opened in "Maiden Tower" gallery in Baku where portraits of the prominent Azerbaijani poet Samad Vurgun, as well as paintings from his home-museum are being displayed.

"My works are mostly illustrations for Samad Vurgun’s books which were released in the Soviet time and thank God that that the state ordered his portraits at that time. Otherwise, the exhibition would be impossible," said state-honored artist Arif Huseynov, whose works were also exhibited in the gallery.

According to him, these exhibitions will help future generations better understand great poet Samad Vurgun’s works.

The exposition also featured an album which contains all paintings displayed at the exhibition. Among the works placed here were paintings by Sattar Bahlulzade, Tair Salahov, Maral Rahmanzade, Kamil Khanlarov, Elmira Shahtakhtinskaya and original computer compilation by Etibar Aslanov.
