Azerbaijani film awarded special diploma at international film festival

Azerbaijani film “Precinct” (“Sahə”) received a special jury diploma at the 11th Prometheus International Film Festival in Tbilisi.
The feature film "Sahə" has been filmed by Azerbaijani film company Narimanfilm. Screenwriter and director is Ilgar Safat, a young Azerbaijani film director and screenwriter, whose films have received many high awards at international film festivals.

The film was screened at the festival at the "Rustaveli" cinema, one of two theaters designated for the festival, on December 11.

Joint Azerbaijani-Georgian film "Precinct" tells a story of a man whose past prevents his existence in the present, a source in the company said in an interview. The film traces the intersection of genres. The plot focuses on the conflicts and dilemmas in relationship between modern humans.

The international jury was headed by Serbian director Zhelimir Zhilnik, twice winner of the "Berlinale". All films were assessed in two categories – “Best Picture” and “Best Director.” The jury included Iranian director Khana Makhmalbaf, British actress Mariam Dabo, Georgian director Nana Jorjadze and director Elena Khazanova.
